Project Description

President’s Residence at Rollins College

The President’s Residence at Rollins College was designed to house the College President and his family on campus. It was important to provide a home with dignity, yet one that has an understated elegance and visually belonged on the college campus since the school’s opening in 1885.

The design was inspired by the idea that the home began as a simple one-story cottage, and over time, there were multiple additions, which allowed for very little symmetry in its mass and composition. It is through this thinking of informality—a playful approach to form and function—that the understated elegance was realized. Through the use of appropriate elements of style, historically correct detailing and rich materials, the design realizes the home’s dignity for a Rollins College President.
