Last week Winter Park Commissioners unanimously voted in favor of the Condev housing development project, featuring 16 luxury in-town homes at the site of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in the heart of Winter Park’s North Park Avenue and Historic Golf Course district. The project includes 2.5 parking spaces per unit, adding additional spaces above what the code requires, bolstering parking to the downtown area, offers luxurious outdoor gardens/terraces, large interior spaces that help engage Florida’s al fresco lifestyle.

I am so pleased that the development that is coming on this place will be an asset to this community; this is a lovely project.” – Winter Park Commissioner Carolyn Cooper

This is a fascinating project because of what it says about transitions over time, and if we didn’t have change there would be no history.” – Winter Park Commissioner Pete Weldon

The new Condev property is designed after Winter Park’s indigenous styles of California Mission Architecture. The architecture, balanced with the landscape, has very romantic and refined feel that will offer a new level for design excellence in Winter Park. This style supports ACi Architects reputation of creating “crafted vs. produced” architecture that is authentic with warm inviting spaces, large trellised overhangs, outdoor living rooms, and rich enduring materials.

We thoroughly enjoy working with the developer, Winter Park based Condev and its extremely sensitive vision of high quality development. The development’s second reading of approval will occur at the Commission meeting on Monday, Nov. 13. Read more on the project here, Winter Park/Maitland Observer.
